I had the BT's loaded in my 300 win mag for deer a few seasons back and when elk season came around I didn't have anything ready for my other guns. I took the gun with 180 BT's loaded to 3070 fps and preceded to kill my bull with one shot. Bang-Flop I might add. Since that time I've taken many more, all one shot kills!DrMike, I don't have any problems in using magnum primers for the 300 Winchester Magnum, or even other calibers with large columns. I was getting ready to reload a batch of brass using Nosler 180 grain bullets, and I wanted to make sure it was safe using magnum primers with Reloader 19 powder. Titleist.I was planning on 28 Nosler chambering or 7MM Remington Magnum but ultimately settled on the 7MM-300 Winchester Magnum. I will be sending my dummy round to JGS to make the reamer for this build. The chamber will be throated for Berger 195 EOL. I would like to keep the weight at around 8 to 8-1/2 lbs including scope.

The 165 NAB has done under an inch with three different powders tried, H1000, H4831SC and H4350. It is a better powder for the reduced loads and should be able to get something decent out of it. 4198 is very fast for the big jugged 300.. Check out Hodgdon's reduced loads on their site, they should have data for a 125-130 with H4895.
