80 effaced 2cm dilated
I was 2cm dilated at 36 weeks. At 38 weeks still 2cm dilated but also 80%effaced. I gave birth at 38+4 (today) after my water broke last night. How exciting! Congratulations! I hope your L&D went smoothly. I would love to progress that quickly and give birth this week! Thanks for sharing.At my 37 week apt I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced and had my son 3 days later ... I am due on 12/24 I was 3cm dilated for a week 50% effaced….but. Yesterday the doc checked 3/4cm 80%effaced. He said baby should be here anytime now. I keep reading about people having to get c-section or having really long labors if induced, but that's mostly people who aren't dilated/effaced at all. November 18, 2023 | by mckenna1. Got admitted to L&D at 4pm yesterday with full blown contractions 1.5 minutes apart. Went from 1 cm dilated 0% effaced to 4 cm dilated and 70% effaced in 4 hours. Then everything came to a halt and I only dilated .5, 11 hours later.At 36 weeks and 5 days, I was 100% effaced and not dilated. Baby was fully engaged and ready to go. Dr. said at this point if I wanted to move labor along, I could start walking around more and being more active (after 4 months of bedrest for PTL, risk of cervical shortening, and low lying placenta/low lying baby). ….

Efacement is how thin your cervix is, and dialation is how open it is. I think 1cm is a cheerio.... Once your cervix is 100% effaced, it means its completely thin.....
