At long last GM contacted me yesterday and advised that they are working on a repair for the throbbing/knocking sound a lot of 2020 Duramax owners are currently experiencing. My truck is right at 200,00 miles with all original drivetrain components. It has started making a clicking/ticking sound that can be heard in the cab pretty good and once window is rolled down, it is even louder. My LMM is exhibiting a slight intermittent ticking noise coming from what appears to be the lower part of the engine. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. When I do hear it, it's not continous either...like a few times per second and then nothing, with no pattern.Just traded my 2018 2500 Duramax for a new 2020 2500 L5P and notice a throbbing sound at idle when the engine is warmed up ( currently 2200km). Topic starter. The ticking is at its loudest point near the oil pan right next to where the transmission bolts to the engine. I have a video of it, not sure how to post it on this forum.
