A 248 ( M block ) can have " thin wall " sleeves installed which makes it into a 264. A 264 ( super M , 400 block ) can have " thin wall " sleeves installed which makes it a 281. A 248 ( M block ) could be bored up to the parent bore diameter of the 264 block and then putting in thin wall sleeves it would be stepped up a 281.The LP head doesn't have the breather tube going from the back of the head to the air cleaner and the oil circulating loop over the valves.
