Not sure if it holds true for your guitar, but first and fifth number indicate year: '90. 2,3 and 4th numbers indicate which day of the year your guitar was constructed: 176th. Last two numbers indicate your guitar was the ninth constructed that particular day. Just learned this myself, so anyone feel free to correct.The Les Paul Junior was introduced in 1954 as a budget model to the Les Paul, and the Les Paul Special was introduced in 1955 as an intermediate model between the two. By the late 1950s, it was apparent that a budget model below the Les Paul Junior was necessary to fulfill the demand created by new guitarists, and Gibson set out to design it.The headstock on top says Gibson. Under that between the tuners for the 2 and 4 strings it says Custom Shop. Between the Custom and Shop. it says in script Les Paul.
