I did this with my SP5 and will probably do it with my SP5K-PDW now that I have a spare to keep as a safe queen. If I didn't have the extra I probably would keep it a pistol with a brace. Something to consider is that the SB tactical SP5K side folding brace will allow you to bolt up the ump style stock without much effort.

If you intend to run suppressed all of the time, then the SP5K is probably option since you don't have to keep swapping out locking pieces. As far as expansion goes, most defensive 9mm pistol rounds are designed for running out of pistol length barrels of 4-5", so I'm not sure that the shorter SP5K barrel is really going to be a handicap.The AAC TI-RANT S 45 is the correct suppressor for the Mark 24. Also the Mark 24 was the HK 45C, not the full size or USP. That being said, the 45M is as close as you can get since the S was discontinued.
