Jun 7, 2014 · There are just not enough Accord CVTs with a lot of miles (over 75k miles) to know what problems these CVTs will have. You can't fix problems if you don't know what they are. Honda Odyssey (1999-2004) had a lot of transmission failures but they did not occur untill 60k-80k miles. Honda did not fix the problem until 2007 model. 1. Transmission problems. The transmission slipping problem for the Honda Accord mostly occurred for the 1999, 2000, and 2001 model years. Cars equipped with an automatic gearbox had a fair share of issues, and some drivers have reported that the transmission has failed before the car reaches 90,000 miles.
