It seems to me that if the stator was going bad or completely failed, you would have battery charge problems, as the stator (alternator) is what charges and maintains the charge of the battery along with the voltage regulator. To test the pulse (trigger to tell the computer when to send ignition to the spark plug) the motor needs to be turning over.If your ATV doesn't have spark it could be the CDI box connection.
