But you need the files on the sd card in order to set up Luma on the CTRNAND, so the system can boot when the sd card is not inserted. Here's the guide, follow section VI. Using 7zip, extract boot.firm from luma3ds.7z to another location on your computer (not the sd root), rename it to newluma.firm, and then copy it to the root of your sd card.
