The problem I am finding is that the new engine is a FE model and not an FM. I had to order a "neutral switch" or switch selection depending on where you look.

fgunz net Sep 11, 2016 · Probably not. The bike frame is the ground half of the electrical circuit and with the shift motor not touching the frame, it is missing the return path. So either use a temporary wire from the shift motor housing to a bare place on the frame or touch the housing to a bare portion of the frame.
