How to turn off onstar demonstration mode
Onstar Demo Mode nightmare. Just bought my 2023 Bolt on Saturday. Before driving off the dealer was helping me set up Onstar (I was fine with the free trial, but had no intention of keeping it). I was getting the demo mode message, but we assumed this would go away when we set up Onstar.I thought that was an opt-in process, however. Also, Chevrolet / OnStar will collect vehicle telemetry even if you opt out of the Smart Driver program, so you would have to disable OnStar completely (remove the cellular module). According to another forum, the location of the module is behind the infotainment screen. Share.I contacted OnStar twice about how to turn it off, both times were told that the dealer needs to do something about it, not OnStar. I contacted Dealer, was told to first put car in D, turn on the hazard lights, press and hold the Power button for 90 seconds and the car should come out of the Demon mode. But we tried twice and it didn't work.
