We had our 2008 XUV 850D Gator (350hrs) serviced at an Ohio JD Dealership last month. It was making a thunking-clunking sound coming from under the floor board. The dealership replaced the front-end bearings, drive shaft, and also replaced BOTH centrifical clutches to the tune of about $2000. If you own a -60,000 s/n machine you may be limited in your options. 2 posts · Joined 2014. #1 · Dec 3, 2014. i have a 07 620i that makes this clunking in the front end, it doesnt matter if its in 2wd or 4wd it just clunks periodically. i think i have narrowed it down to the front drive shaft going to the front diff. i can shake it and wiggle it and it seems to be the noise im hearing. problem is i cant seem ...Certain the clutch is for a diesel S4 and your serial number? What problems required a new primary? When lifted off the ground doe the belt fully travel the primary sheeves and indicate a higher mph? If uncertain or inexperienced it's best to take to someone that knows how to repair. It could be related to recent repairs or it may not be.I can hear the drive clutch click when it releases so I think it is releasing all the way. The new belt is the right part number. I read where the belt is directional so I made sure to mount it correctly. The new drive belt is 1 1/4 inches across the top which it should be. I've gotten one of their aftermarket Rapid Response clutches and the weights and spring are for a gas engine which tend to have a wider RPM range than a diesel. Also, make sure you get or make a clutch removal tool.
